Privacy policy

WE Time Tracker desktop app for macOS and Windows. Effective 5 October 2026.

WE Time Tracker is made by White Eagles & Co. s.r.o. ("we"). This policy explains what data the app handles, where it is kept and how to remove it.

In short

• Your clients, projects, time entries, rates and payments are stored on your own computer.
• If you turn on sync, a copy is stored in a hidden app folder of your own Google Drive.
• We do not run any server for the app. We never receive your time entries, your Google account data or statistics about how you use the app.
• The app has no account with us, no ads, no analytics and no tracking.

Data on your computer

The app keeps everything you enter (clients, projects, time entries, hourly rates, payments and settings) in the file we-tracker-data.json in its data folder:

• macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/WE Time Tracker/
• Windows: %APPDATA%\WE Time Tracker\

The same folder holds daily backup copies in backups/, the state of sync and, if you sign in with Google, the sign-in tokens. Nothing from this folder is sent to us.

Google sign-in and sync through Google Drive

Sync is optional and off until you sign in. When you do, the app asks for two permissions:

• See, create and delete its own configuration data in your Google Drive (drive.appdata). The app stores one file with your time-tracking data in a hidden folder of your Google Drive that only WE Time Tracker can access, and reads it back on your other computers. The app cannot see, open or change any other file in your Drive.
• See your primary Google Account email address (userinfo.email). The app uses it only to show which account is connected.

The app exchanges data with Google directly from your computer. Your time entries and your Google data never pass through a server of ours, and we have no way to access them. The app does not use Google user data for advertising, does not sell it or pass it to anyone, and does not use it to train AI or machine learning models.

WE Time Tracker's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Removing your data

• Sign out in the app's Settings. The app deletes the sign-in tokens from your computer and stops syncing.
• To withdraw the app's access to your Google Account, open myaccount.google.com/permissions and remove WE Time Tracker.
• To delete the copy in Google Drive, open Google Drive on the web, go to Settings, Manage apps, find WE Time Tracker and choose Options, Delete hidden app data.
• To delete the data on your computer, delete the data folder listed above.

Updates

To offer updates, the app asks GitHub (api.github.com) for the latest release shortly after it starts and every six hours, and downloads new versions from GitHub. Like any web request, these requests carry technical details such as your IP address and are handled under the GitHub General Privacy Statement. They contain nothing about you or your work.

Your rights

Because the app sends us no personal data, we hold nothing about you that could be accessed, corrected or deleted. If you write to us, we use your message only to answer it.

Changes to this policy

If a version of the app starts handling data differently, this page is updated before that version is released, and the date at the top changes.
